Premier Racing to Let the Good Times Roll

Avondale, Louisiana | May 20, 2022 | While the traditional party scene may be happening in nearby New Orleans on Bourbon Street, Premier Racing will let the good times roll this weekend with Las Vegas-style at NOLA Motorsports Park. The Avondale, Louisiana-area race course will host Rounds 3 and 4 of the SRO Pirelli GT4 America, May 19 – 22. After two months of running the year-old Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, the Kent Moore-guided operation has its new-for-2022 RS model of the GT4-spec mid-engine Porsche race-ready again for the pair of two-driver races. Continuing their multi-year partnership, Adam Adelson (Las Vegas, Nevada) and Elliott Skeer (San Diego, California) will share the No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for the New Orleans-area race weekend in the Pro/Am-class.

The Las Vegas, Nevada-based race team entered the season with a new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport race car. However, before Adelson could reach the first turn, he was struck from behind damaging the new machine beyond immediate repair. With supply chain shortages preventing the car from being fully restored before last week, Moore and his crew put in late-night hours to have the 500+ horsepower missile ready to race in the two, 60-minute GT4 America races this weekend.

Highlighted by a long one-mile straightaway, the 2.75-mile, 16-turn NOLA track is new addition to the SRO schedule. Added last month to replace the Ozarks International Raceway date, the track will be unfamiliar ground to most on the entry list including Adelson. However, Skeer is an exception having raced to victory here in a 2015 GT3 Cup Challenge USA race on his way to that series’ championship. This will benefit the team as it must quickly learn the 718 Cayman RS Clubsport it had so little time with before the incident. The highspeed run of the straight will play well with the increased horsepower and aerodynamics the 2022 car has over its predecessor.

First impressions were made during a Thursday test day… and they were excellent. Skeer set the fastest lap for the Pro/Am class with a time of one-minute, 44.92-seconds. It was good for the second overall quick time in testing. Adelson was close behind during his test stint.

Practice opens today at Noon local central time/10:00 a.m. on the west coast. A second 45-minute practice will start at 4:55 p.m. CT. Qualifying for both Adelson and Skeer will take place on Saturday morning beginning at 10:25 a.m. local. Race 1 – Round 3 of the season – will take the green flag at 3:10 p.m. CT/1:10 p.m. PT. Sunday, May 22 will have 60-minutes of GT4 competition with the one-hour clock starting at 11:00 a.m. local CT/9:00 a.m. PT.

All sessions will be streamed live at: www.youtube.com/user/gt1world .

Adam Adelson, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |
“I'm tremendously excited to get back behind the wheel of our GT4 RS Clubsport, and I'm just as excited to be racing in New Orleans. I've never been to Louisiana before, so when we're done at the track, I hope I'll have some time to explore a little! Concerning learning a new track, I feel primed and ready. Most of my competitors have been racing for many more years than I have, so learning a new track isn't something they have to do very often. For me, I've been learning new tracks at almost every race weekend I've been to over the last few years, so I think that plays into our hands really well. It's been a tough and challenging season; we've faced massive adversity at almost every event so far. For the first time this season, I feel like the stars are aligning and we can show everyone what we're truly capable of."

Elliott Skeer, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |
“Porsche have again shown their mastery in evolution as the GT4 RS has already proven to be a winning platform. I’m extremely excited to have it under me for the races and fight for the wins with the sharpest sword out there! The platform is so forgiving and versatile, it should be the perfect tool for whatever the Nola weather throws our way.”

Kent Moore, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |
“Getting that break in the schedule was exactly what we needed as a team. It gave us time to get into the shop and focus on preparing the [718 Cayman GT4] RS Clubsport. Competing in two SRO championships and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America has been intense. The competition in all three series is top-level and the schedule punishes any kind of damage to the car. Porsche has been working hard in managing the supply chain issues and doing all they can to get us what we need when we need it. That is why we race Porsches. You are never alone when you race a Porsche. We are proud of what we have done at the track and in the shop. This sport will keep you humble. There is always that next corner and you don’t know what is around the other side of it. Everyone here can see how the pieces are falling into place and that makes the hard work worth it.”
