Media Alert : Pirelli World Challenge Champ Alec Udell to Appear at North Carolina Int'l Auto Expo

February 13, 2017 : 2016 Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup Champion Alec Udell will represent the series, North America’s premier sprint format GT racing series, at the North Carolina International Auto Expo on February 18. The Clemson University junior will sign autographs in the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) booth from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds’ Convention Center.

The Woodlands, Texas-resident who is currently studying engineering at Clemson, will join the Pirelli World Challenge competitors for the series’ premier at VIR, April 28-30. Not only will it be the series’ first time at the Alton, Virginia-area track, but it will also be the season-opener for the PWC’s SprintX Championship. The two, 60-minute, multi-driver format races feature a Pro-Am style driver combination. Race One will take place on Saturday, April 29, Race Two on Sunday, April 30.



About Alec Udell :

Alec Udell is a junior studying engineering at Clemson University. The 21 year-old from The Woodlands, Texas began his racing career in karting at age five. He went on to win the Rotax National Points Championship in 2008 and represented his country as part of Team USA in Egypt in the World Championships in 2009. By 2011, he made history by becoming, at the time, the Pirelli World Challenge’s youngest ever competitor at age 15. He has 15 career Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup class wins entering the season and is the 2016 PWC GT Cup Champion.
