Petersen/ White Lightning Sebring Race Morning Warm-Up �F inal Laps Prep Drivers and Team for 12 Hours

SEBRING, Fla., March 18, 2006 � Under foggy and cool conditions, Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing turned its final laps leading into the 54th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Tim Bergmeister (Langenfeld, Germany) ran the fifth fastest GT2 class lap of the session with a two minute, 6.876 second circuit of the 3.7-mile Sebring International Raceway. Bergmeister followed his younger brother, J�rg, into the No. 31 MMPIE/ PAWS/ Michelin Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. The younger Bergmeister had laid down a lap of 2:06.913. Nic J�nsson (Buford, Ga.) did not drive the car in the 20-minute session. The driving order for the team's fifth 12 Hour run at Sebring will be J�rg Bergmeister starting, Tim Bergmeister followed by Nic J�nsson. While the conditions this morning, overcast with a 67-degree temperature, don't reflect what is expected to transpire over the 12 hours of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) season-opening round, the session provided several opportunities for the Michael Petersen-owned team. It was a final “leak” check for newly installed components and a comfort check for the drivers. A new driver's seat was also installed yesterday and the laps turned this morning provided a solid check of that installation. At the conclusion of the warm-up, the drivers also practiced driver changes to minimize the time required to make the switch, which will come at the end of every driving stint, throughout the race. The Dale White-managed team also utilized that time to practice pit stops. 11 stops are expected over the course of the event. Tim Bergmeister, driver: “The car is very good. It was very foggy this morning but we did what we wanted to. I am very happy. We know what the challenge is for us because we are not the fastest car. The team is very good and we are running for the end of the race, not the start.
